Hitchhiker

Seen The hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It was pretty good, Id give it a C+ or perhaps a B-. I think it would have been a bit better had I actually read the books before hand. Marvin was cool. So pretty much all in all it was good. Maybe I'll do a better review later, as Im kinda tired now so I think I'll go get some sleep.

Serenity

So, for a while now those that have been paying attention or cared at all; Have heard me talk of a show called Firefly. It was created by one Joss Whedon and without going into too much detail, can best be described as the old west meets star wars. Well now the movie is coming out on Sept 30. Yesterday they released an online trailer found here http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/serenity/. Im too lazy to actually link to it right now. Yet, I advise you all to go watch the trailer, mainly cause I'll need someone to go see this with. Im looking your way Graham.

Weekend

I've been really lazy the last couple of days. So for the weekend I purpose a pick up game of Soccer, Football or Hockey. Doesn't matter where, or when exactly. Just as long as it happens I'll be happy. If it doesn't maybe I'll just go on a run somewhere. Anyway if people are interested they should let me know. Though Im not holding my breathe.

Today.

Today was a good day. Went downtown for several reasons. Looked at another Lexus and started negotiations again. Then it was on to the comic shop downtown to purchase some trades. After which we had an appointment in New West to go to. So in between the two hours I had to kill we went to the Casino. I played all of 9 quarters and won 300 bucks. Needless to say I was happy. Im putting it towards my IPOD, which I've already started shopping around for. Also got my grades back finally from SFU, one A two B-......again happy. To top off the evening the Family channel was playing Adventures in Babysitting, which is a highly underrated movie. Anyway that pretty much summed up my day. There should be more updates tomorrow. Anyway Im going to go read.

Mario

So, lately I've been addicted to Mario Bros. I've been trying to decide which is the superior Mario Bros game from the original Nintendo. Though right now Im playing Mario Bros 3 and haven't stopped playing it for the past three days; I think my favorite still has to be number 2. Though im starting to lean more towards three now. I mean hell it has the Frog suit, the Racoon suit, and you could throw hammers. HAMMERS!!!!!

Smallville.

Well Smallville crapped out again this week. Im really beginning to give up on this show. I love Superman, don't get me wrong; but this show is just painful at times. "Hello Me, meet the new you" is just a prime example of the crap that Superman fans have to deal with week in and week out. All I can say is thank god for Bryan Singer's Superman Returns. Sure its a year off, but Im already looking forward to it. Anyway that's about all I really have to say. I think Im going to go do something constructive.

Today.

Okay. Just a quick update then bed. Got home from the poker tournament, to find 5 deer in my yard. Which really isn't anything new. Just never seen them around this late.
Other things, bought two polo shirts today. Bought a bunch of comics, though my Sin City trade didn't come in, which was disappointing. The final highlight would be coming in second in poker tournament, plus my elimination of Dave.
Also Vikram brought back his blog. Unfortunately I don't have the link for it. I'll probably post it tomorrow. At any rate, I'll update tomorrow as more wacky fun time is to commence. Anyway Im going to go get some sleep.

Free!!!!

Well, my school year is over and done. I don't really want to make too much of it right now, as Im pretty tired. Its been a crazy couple of days. Finals are a harsh mistress. Anyway, I've gotten to experience the crappyness that is early morning finals; and the late into the evening finals (which I just wrote today).
I apologize for any miss phone calls, I know there was a couple, but studying at that point was a priority for me. I do intend to return the calls at some point. So, it looks as though my week and weekends, from now until September are free(more or less). This week, I plan on catching up on some serious DVD watching and video game playin. I also plan on reading plenty of comics. And at some point, im going to purchase either an IPOD or a PSP. I haven't really decided which yet, but Im leaning more towards the IPOD. Anyway, that about wraps up this little update. I'll update tomorrow about other stuff. Now, I leave you with my top five things I'll miss from SFU 1) Monday Mayhem with Rexin. 2) English 399 Monsters and Monstrosities 3) that crappy pub 4)the library 5)SFU Curling

Post Wrestlemania.

Well, wrestlemania has come and gone. It was pretty good, not great but pretty good. Some highlights was seeing my two favorite wrestlers of all time (Piper and Austin)in the same ring. That was pretty cool. Hogan's thing was cool too, though kinda pointless. As for my predictions I got 8/9 right. Only one I missed was the Rey and Eddie match, which wasn't as good as I was expecting. Best match on the card was probably the ladder match; close second would have been Angle and Michaels. For all its hype, wrestlemania overall wasn't as good as I thought it would be; but it was still was pretty cool. I dunno if I'd buy another ppv if they're all going to be that price. On to other things. Last week of school, YESS!!! Got my philosophy paper done, so now its only to prepare for my three finals and Im off for four months. Sweet. Other than that not much else to say. I got some reading to do, so I think I'll go do that now.

Sin City

I sit down at a dusty old computer. Tired, fatigue is setting in. Rubbing my eyes I see the reflection of an old coke can, its hypnotic glow, teases me, tempts me for a sip. The keyboard is fresh and new, I begin to type; a review must be read. The voice of the people must be heard. The hum of the computer over shadows my thoughts as I begin to gather steam and head on into the review. Its late, or early depending on your perception of time. The theatre was packed to the rafters, a couple hundred, maybe a thousand cramped into one space. The credits role, and the screen turns to black and white, flashes of color here and there. We've entered into the world of Sin City. Franks World. A world filled with excessive violence and hookers. Good clean fun. The violence pours on to a screen, and yet Im captivated, cant look away. The plot thickens with its usual twists and turns. How'd these kids get in here, isn't this 18A? Bruce Willis gives a great performance, as he castrates his way to glory. Only rivaled by the sheer brutality of Mickey Rouke's portrayal of Marv. Questions race through my mind, isn't that the chick from the Gilmore Girls? How can Elijah Wood look that creepy, what happened to the fun loving hobbit? The movie's almost over now, things are starting to become a bit clearer. Only one thing bugs me, what was the point of Josh Hartnett's character why have him in there.......Oh.....Credits Role, satisfaction fills me, seats empty, mine as well. I leave happy, and I am forced to do the only thing I can do. Im forced to give this movie a good review.
A+
